PEMDAS is an advanced scientific calculator which lets you easily work with equations and variables. It is based on the Apple Design Award winning PEMDAS Dashboard Widget.

PEMDAS also supports using various trigonometric and logarithmic functions in equations, as well as using hexadecimal, octal, and binary numbers.

PEMDAS is comprised of several tabs. The Keypad tab has a number pad, a function pad, and regular keyboard to let you quickly type and calculate equations. PEMDAS saves all your equations and results until you clear them, and the History tab lets you view all the equations you've calculated. PEMDAS auto-assigns variables to every result, which you can access in the Variables tab.

In the Settings tab, PEMDAS lets you easily switch between degrees and radians. PEMDAS also has several number formatting options, including scientific and engineering notation, and letting you set the amount of significant figures or decimal places displayed.

### Not a fan of the new interface.

I have big hands and a small phone, and the amended interface has made the app harder to use. I like one or two of the changes, but on balance this is worse.

### Still the best

This is one of the first apps I ever downloaded from the iOS App Store after it launched in 2008. I was drawn to this app because I used the same developer’s Dashboard widget. It gets occasional updates every few years and has been my calculator of choice for about a third of my life now. I hope dev continues to give it new features (wink dark mode wink) every couple years. Cheers!

### My Go-To Calculator

PEMDAS Touch is on my home screen, where it is quickly accessible. It is a powerful calculator in a deceptively simple interface, making it easily the most elegant and beautiful calculator of the many that I've tried.

PEMDAS misses five stars only for what it lacks by design. While custom variables can be defined and saved, there are not built-in physical constants pre-loaded. Likewise, this is not a graphing calculator, though I'd love to see a graphing calculator with the design of PEMDAS.

[ C ] - resets the calculator without resetting the memory.
